FuRyu’s ANOMALITH is out now on PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. The survival horror third-person shooter is FuRyu’s first game in the genre, and it arrives after passing 120,000 Steam wishlists ahead of launch. The standard edition costs $49.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition costs $69.99 and adds an 80-page digital art book, a select mini-soundtrack, and the Anomaly Zone Countermeasures Office DLC set.
What you play
ANOMALITH is set in a version of Japan warped by spatial anomalies known as Anomaly Zones. Players control Reona Minazuki, a 17-year-old investigator who becomes a Diver for the government-backed Anomaly Zone Countermeasures Office. She is searching for a missing friend, and her investigation takes her through zones where the rules of space stop behaving. The zones are the hook. FuRyu describes an apartment complex with inverted gravity, a shopping street that extends endlessly, and a dark hall that seems to move on its own. Survival horror structure sits underneath the shooting: players manage resources, fight the creatures inside each zone, and choose what to carry back out. Reona can upgrade 12 anomaly powers and customize weapons and outfits, with some options affecting her stats. The creative team includes scenario writer Romeo Tanaka, character designer MON, and composer Yuka Kitamura, whose past work includes Elden Ring and Sekiro.
Editions and launch offers
The two editions are the same price on all three platforms. On Steam, the standard edition is 10 percent off until Nov 11, and a bundle with the cyberpunk immersive sim Peripeteia discounts each game as well. Players who preorder on any platform also receive the Lost Property Control Organization Collaboration Set until Nov 11. A free demo is available on all platforms. For horror players weighing a Halloween week purchase, it is a crowded field: Halloween: The Game just got a major content drop, and a new co-op horror title, Ghost Hunter, entered Steam Early Access earlier in October. ANOMALITH stands apart from both by pairing its horror with a full third-person shooter campaign rather than an asymmetrical match or a co-op extraction loop.
Why the launch matters
The early Steam numbers are already the strongest of FuRyu’s Steam releases. According to AUTOMATON, ANOMALITH peaked at 746 concurrent players within 24 hours of launch, ahead of past FuRyu peaks of 221 for CRYSTAR and 416 for Kemono Teatime. At the time of that report, the game held a Mostly Positive rating on Steam, with 71 percent of 76 reviews positive. Those numbers are early and small in absolute terms, and they should be read that way. What they do show is that the pre-launch interest was real: 120,000 wishlists turned into the publisher’s best Steam opening, not a quiet debut. For a publisher long associated with bishoujo action titles, a survival horror shooter was a genuine risk, and the first day suggests the bet found an audience.
What it means for players
If you already played the demo, note that demo progress does not carry over to the full game, although an outfit set created in the demo can transfer. If you are buying on Steam, the 10 percent discount runs until Nov 11, so there is no reason to rush past the demo first. And if you are on Switch 2, ANOMALITH joins a launch season that already includes Phantom Blade Zero‘s arrival on PS5 and PC, making this one of the busiest weeks of the fall for new action games.
