Fortnite One Piece Trailer Confirms Luffy, Zoro, Nami and Usopp for Treasure Hunters

Epic's first Treasure Hunters trailer shows Luffy, Zoro, Nami and Usopp in Fortnite, and the key art adds Buggy. Here is what is confirmed, what fans spotted, and what to do before the November 1 launch.

Epic Games just gave Fortnite players their first real look at the One Piece crossover. A 28 second Treasure Hunters trailer, posted on the official Fortnite X account at 8:01 a.m. CT on Tuesday, October 27, shows Luffy, Zoro, Nami and Usopp in game. Official key art posted two hours later adds Buggy the Clown. On Saturday, Epic’s teaser showed only the Going Merry and the two logos, which we covered in our original One Piece collab report.

What the trailer actually confirms

  • Four Straw Hats in game. The final shot has Usopp, Zoro and Nami wading toward a giant chained treasure chest, and Luffy appears earlier next to Zoro under pink trees. Zoro fights with his swords drawn.
  • Buggy is in. He sits next to Luffy in the official key art, which makes him the first One Piece villain Epic has shown.
  • The rival crews are real. Kasane Teto and A$AP Rocky show up in the trailer and key art, along with Jonesy, matching the pirate crew lineup from last week’s teasers.
  • A new pirate island. The trailer opens on a fresh map, then shows ship decks, cannons and old style firearms.
  • Paid items are coming. The end card’s legal line says “Some optional items require purchase.” It also credits Mercedes AMG, which hints at a car tie in nobody has explained yet.

What fans spotted but Epic has not confirmed

Leakers and outlets like Polygon and Beebom also list Sanji and Ace. Epic has not named them. Polygon says Sanji’s blond hair is visible in a golden car and on a boat in the background, and suggests he could be the pass’s bonus skin, the way Springfielder Peely was in The Simpsons mini season. Beebom reads Luffy’s attacks as Gum Gum Pistol and Gum Gum Rocket Mythic abilities, and it names points of interest such as Arlong Park and Foosha Village from the map. Treat all of that as likely but unofficial until Epic posts its patch notes. Epic also has not said which characters go in the Battle Pass and which go in the Item Shop, or what they will cost.

When Treasure Hunters starts

Treasure Hunters launches Sunday, November 1, after server downtime ends Chapter 7 Season 4. Epic has not posted a downtime time yet. November 1 is also the night clocks fall back in the US, so check the official Fortnite Status account for the real time instead of trusting a countdown. If you still have Battle Pass levels to clear, you have about five days.

Our take

Five confirmed One Piece characters (seven if Sanji and Ace hold up), several music crews and a “requires purchase” line will not all fit in one mini season Battle Pass. If you are a One Piece fan, the smart move this week is to finish the current pass and hold your V-Bucks until Epic shows the Item Shop. At least some of the Straw Hats will almost certainly cost extra.
