Nintendo has a new Indie World Showcase lined up for Wednesday, October 28, and it is a short one. Nintendo of America says the stream runs roughly 15 minutes and covers “new announcements and updates on indie games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.” It is the first Indie World since March.
Nintendo posted the date on X at 9 AM CT on Tuesday, giving fans just one day of notice. Here is when to tune in, where to watch and what is realistic to expect.
Indie World start time
The showcase starts at 7 AM PT on Wednesday, October 28. US clocks do not change until Sunday, November 1, so the usual offsets still apply:
- 7 AM PT
- 8 AM MT
- 9 AM CT
- 10 AM ET
- 2 PM in the UK
- 11 PM in Japan
Plan on it wrapping up around 9:15 AM CT. It is mid morning on the East Coast and early on the West Coast, so a quick watch fits before work or during a break.
Where to watch
The stream airs on Nintendo’s official YouTube channels and on Twitch. Nintendo of America’s post links to its YouTube page, and the Nintendo Today app on your phone also carries the announcement.
Japan gets a longer show
Nintendo’s Japanese account lists its version of the same broadcast at about 25 minutes, airing at the same moment (11 PM Japan time). That is around 10 extra minutes, which likely means games aimed only at that market. If something from the Japanese show grabs you, check whether it has a western release before you get attached.
What to expect
Nintendo has not named a single game, so treat any list as a guess. Indie World shows usually mix new reveals with release dates and a shadow drop or two that you can buy as soon as the stream ends. The March show brought Blue Prince to Switch 2 as a shadow drop.
A few games from earlier showcases are still on the way. DrinkBox Studios (Guacamelee!) pushed its Metroidvania Blighted to 2027 in September, and the murder mystery farm sim Grave Seasons slipped to March 9, 2027. Either could turn up with a firmer date.
The name everyone will be shouting in the chat is Hollow Knight: Silksong’s free Sea of Sorrow expansion. Team Cherry announced it in December 2025 for “next year” and has not shown it again since. With about two months left in 2026, an Indie World is one of the few stages left where a date or a surprise drop would make sense. That is our hope, not a promise. Team Cherry has also dropped news on its own blog before.
Our take
Fifteen minutes is short, so expect quick trailers and very little talking. If you own a Switch 2, keep the eShop open while you watch. Shadow drops are the part of Indie World that pays off right away.
