Nintendo’s October Indie World is over, and it was mostly a look at 2027. The roughly 15 minute stream showed 16 games plus a closing sizzle reel. Only three of them land on Switch 2 or Switch this year, but four free demos arrive today, so there is something to download right now.
Here is every game Nintendo of America confirmed on X and YouTube after the show, sorted by release date so you can see what is close and what is a long wait. If you missed the stream, our Indie World preview has the background.

- Sword of the Sea (Switch 2): October 29. Giant Squid’s surfing adventure, already out on PS5 and PC, lands on Switch 2 tomorrow.

The show closed with an Indie Spotlight sizzle reel of more games coming to Switch 2 and Switch.
The demos to grab today
Nintendo says four free demos arrive today: Petal Runner, Winds of Viridia, Haunted Paws and RACCOIN. If you only try one, make it Petal Runner. It is a Switch 2 exclusive five months out, so the demo is the only way to play it before spring.
What did not show up
Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Sea of Sorrow expansion was the name fans hoped for, and it was not in Nintendo’s posts. Neither were Blighted or Grave Seasons, the two delayed games from March’s show. That leaves Team Cherry with about two months to deliver its “next year” window, and its own blog is the place to watch.
Our take
This was a co-op show. Dumpster Gang, Super Battle Golf, R.E.P.O. and Haunted Paws are all built around playing with friends, which is the strongest argument Switch 2 has for indie games: GameChat and couch play suit them better than a PC does. Witchbrook’s date is the headline, but Sword of the Sea tomorrow and Spirit Crossing on November 16 are what most Switch 2 owners will actually play this year.
