Quick answer: No Man’s Sky Forsaken (version 7.10) is a free update that went live on October 28, 2026. To get the new gear, collect haunting mementos from infested outposts, deep-space hulks, derelict freighters and planetary digsites, then trade them with a forsaken trader, which you can summon at the edges of deep-space outposts. Mementos buy biomechanical corvette parts, and preserved grubs buy the new Larva Cannon multi-tool. Do not linger too long near the mementos, because long exposure draws hostile boundary horrors.
Hello Games has shipped its fifth major No Man’s Sky update of 2026, and this one leans into spooky season. Forsaken adds a new trading loop built around creepy salvage, a pile of new corvette parts, and some quality of life changes players have wanted for years, including seamless warping and a Minimal HUD mode. It also lands alongside the game’s iPhone and iPad launch. Here is where to start.
Step 1: Find haunting mementos
Mementos are the new currency for this update. Hello Games says they turn up “buried between the bones” at infested outposts, inside deep-space hulks and derelict freighters, and at planetary digsites. If you already run derelict freighters for salvage, you are in the right place. Grab what you can and move on.
Step 2: Watch out for boundary horrors
The patch notes warn that prolonged exposure to mementos attracts hostile boundary horrors. Treat memento hunting like a smash and grab: keep your shields topped up, carry ammo, and do not spend more time near the find than you need to.
Step 3: Summon a forsaken trader
Forsaken traders are not waiting at your local station. You summon them at the edges of deep-space outposts, the stations added with the Cosmos update earlier this year. Their stock includes:
- Biomechanical corvette parts: new hull structures, habs and cockpits for your corvette.
- The Larva Cannon: a new multi-tool you buy with the right number of preserved grubs.
Players who keep salvaging also earn the Larva Tank helmet and the title “Mind Harvester.”
Step 4: Upgrade your corvette
Forsaken adds new Vantage, Hornet, Viper and Mantis cockpits, with three variants each for the Hornet, Viper and Mantis styles, plus new Legion-class interiors. Corvette owners can also take on new space courier missions from deep-space outposts, which need a corvette and a gravitino coil. Planetary trading outposts now have a corvette landing pad, too.
Step 5: Turn on the new quality of life features
- Seamless warping: you can warp to nearby stars without opening the Galaxy Map, and mission icons now show on interstellar targets.
- Minimal HUD mode: hides most of the interface for cleaner exploring and screenshots.
- Radial wheel: a new Multi-Tool mode wheel for faster switching.
- Space Holo-Arena: a challenger now waits at deep-space outposts.
- Base changes: orbital bases can be uploaded, the Oxygen Harvester can be built anywhere, and Cosmos deep-space materials can be pinned.
The patch also includes bug fixes and memory optimizations on Xbox Series consoles and in VR.
Playing on iPhone or iPad
Forsaken arrives with the iOS version we covered in our No Man’s Sky iPhone preorder story. It is free to download and try, with a one-time $19.99 Full Game Unlock. The App Store lists a 3.8 GB download and requires iOS 26 on an A12 Bionic chip or newer. Hello Games has said multiplayer is not in the iOS version yet, and settlements need an iPhone 15 Pro or newer.
One timing note: Hello Games announced an October 28 launch, but when we checked the US App Store at 11:25 AM CT, the listing still showed a preorder with a release time of 2:00 AM CT on October 29 (midnight Pacific). If you are in the US and it will not download yet, that is likely why.
Game Beacon’s take
The memento loop is a smart way to send players back into derelict freighters and the Cosmos outposts, but the update most people will feel every session is seamless warping. Hopping between nearby stars without the Galaxy Map fixes one of the slowest parts of No Man’s Sky, more than ten years after launch.
