Quick answer: Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 goes live at midnight ET on November 6, 2026 (9 PM PT / 11 PM CT on November 5). It fully integrates Modern Warfare 4, adds the new Hajin Battle Royale map and Zodiac Resurgence map, and launches Warzone on Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. PS4 and Xbox One support ends. Current for the Season 1 launch blog published November 2.

Activision has finally laid out the Warzone half of Modern Warfare 4’s first season, and it is the biggest shake up the free to play battle royale has had in a long time. New maps, a new console, new gear and a hard cut for last generation players all land on the same night.

When does Warzone Season 1 start?

Season 1 goes live on all platforms at 12 AM ET on November 6. That is 9 PM PT and 11 PM CT on Wednesday, November 5. The Season 1 Patch Notes will be posted on the Call of Duty Blog closer to launch. If you missed the multiplayer side, our Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 guide covers the maps, weapons and Battle Pass.

Warzone launches on Nintendo Switch 2

For the first time, Warzone arrives on Nintendo Switch 2. Activision says Switch 2 players get Hajin, Zodiac and all the other maps and playlists on day one. It is the same free to play game, not a cut down spin off.

New Battle Royale map: Hajin

Hajin is set on the Korean Peninsula and spans parts of North and South Korea. Key facts from the official blog:

  • Up to 120 players
  • 13 major points of interest, with dynamic weather
  • The Hanuel Nuclear Reactor is here, but without the radioactive cloud from DMZ
  • A new two version Hajin Gulag, with ground level spectating

New Resurgence map: Zodiac

Zodiac is built around DRC Advanced Systems, a drone company headquarters in South Korea, made by Beenox with Infinity Ward. Its signature feature is the Trackline, a double railway with moving trains, plus tunnels running under the map. Resurgence matches hold up to 44 players, and the 20 player Rally Point mode is aimed at new and returning players.

Verdansk and Rebirth Island are also coming back during Season 1, according to the roadmap.

New gear and systems

  • Zipline Launcher: a new field upgrade for fast traversal
  • Grabber Drone: a rare drone that can pick up loot, fuel barrels and even downed teammates
  • Elite Perks: a fourth Perk slot, found in match at Buy Stations or from Supply Run contracts, one at a time
  • Weapon Augments: CQC, Marksman and Handling upgrades sold at “Fly Buy” Buy Stations dropped by drones
  • Grind for Royalty: personal stat challenges that reset each season, with Gold Excellence and Gold Mosaic camos in Season 1
  • Ground Ops: drillable safes, surveillance towers, cargo drones and radioactive loot barrels
  • Movable fuel barrels and pushable cover

Tactical Sprint is now available to everyone without a Perk, though it is shorter by default. You can also drag teammates while reviving them, and Activision says footsteps and enemy visibility have been improved.

Modes at launch

Season 1 opens with Battle Royale and Resurgence (plus Casual versions of each), Rally Point, Massive Resurgence and Loaded Resurgence. Extreme Resurgence and Rockets and Snipers follow in the mid season update.

Modern Warfare 4 integration, and what happens to your old stuff

Warzone now runs on Modern Warfare 4 progression. Player level resets to the MW4 system with Prestige, and all 33 MW4 launch weapons come with Weapon Prestige, Warzone Mastery Camos and Apex Attachments. The Battle Pass and BlackCell carry over too.

Your Operator skins and cosmetics from Modern Warfare II through Black Ops 7 carry forward, and a new Operator Skin Toggle lets you choose what you see. Legacy weapons stay usable from a Legacy tab, but they lose Gunsmith, Mastery Camos and build code support.

PS4 and Xbox One players: read this

Starting with Season 1, Warzone is no longer playable on PS4 or Xbox One. Activision says your progress is tied to your Activision account, so it comes with you if you move to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC or Switch 2.

What to do before November 6

  • Make sure your platform is linked to your Activision account, especially if you are on PS4 or Xbox One
  • Finish any Black Ops 7 era camo grinds you care about, since legacy weapons lose Mastery Camos
