Quick answer: Helldivers 2 Liberty Day 2026 is Monday, October 26. Arrowhead is giving the AR-23L Liberator Legacy rifle to players who have played since September 26, and it hands the rifles out at the end of the day, 23:59 CET on October 26 (that’s 5:59 PM CT, 3:59 PM PT, 6:59 PM ET). Your ship lobby gets Liberty Day decorations for 24 hours, and the Super Merch store has new Liberty Day items today. Arrowhead hasn’t given an exact start time.
Liberty Day is back for its third year. It’s Super Earth’s in-universe holiday, held every October 26, and Arrowhead community manager Katherine Baskin laid out this year’s plans on the PlayStation Blog at 5 AM CT. The headline is a free retro rifle, but the details on claiming it sit in the fine print. Here’s what to do today.
Step 1: Play today so the rifle lands on your account
The gift is the AR-23L Liberator Legacy, a version of the Liberator styled after First Galactic War weapons. Arrowhead says it will be “rewarded at the conclusion of the Liberty Day celebrations,” and the footnote pins that to 23:59 CET on October 26, 2026.
The same footnote says the rifle is “available to all players who have played since September 26, 2026, 00:00 CET.” The main text also tells you to log in and take part to claim it. So if you’ve played in the last month, you should already qualify. If you haven’t, or you’re not sure, launch the game and finish a mission before 5:59 PM CT tonight.
Step 2: Check your Super Destroyer for the decorations
For 24 hours on October 26, ship lobbies get banners, rugs, party supplies and other decorations. Arrowhead doesn’t say which time zone that 24 hour window follows. Its official X account posted “Liberty Day is here” at 7 AM CT, so the party was already on by then.
Step 3: Join the community minigames
Four minigames are back:
- Minidivers: type emoji stratagem codes in chat as a group to stop waves of enemies.
- Adopt-a-SEAF: get your own “blueberry” to look after and send on missions.
- Oath of Enlistment: take the oath and get a copy to keep.
- Raise the Flag: salute in chat to raise the flag together.
Minidivers, Oath of Enlistment and Raise the Flag are only for members of the official Helldivers Discord server. Adopt-a-SEAF is the one the post doesn’t limit to Discord.
Step 4: Download the Liberty Day Party Pack
Throwing a real party? The free Party Pack has games, decorations, recipes and printable Helldiver helmets. Download instructions are on the Helldivers 2 community page. The photo at the top of this guide, from Arrowhead’s post, shows one of those printable helmets.
Step 5: Start on the Super Merch unlocks
The Super Merch store lets you buy some items only after you earn them in the game:
- Hell Commander Pin: reach Level 100 and earn the Hell Commander title.
- Private Teddy Snuggles Plush: complete 75 missions. It can’t ship to Japan right now.
You have until February 28, 2027 at 9:59 AM PT to hit those goals, and until March 31, 2027 at 11:59 PM PT to order. It’s one per player. New Liberty Day items also went up in the store today.
New to Helldivers 2?
On PS5, Helldivers 2 is in the PlayStation Plus Extra Game Catalog, so a new recruit with Extra can play today and still make the rifle cutoff. The post is on PlayStation’s blog and doesn’t say anything about platforms for the gift.
